it is difficult to get a job doing coding fresh out of school, because employers know that school only teaches you the basics, and the real learning is on the job…. a lot of employers only hire people with experience, rather than someone who will initially have a lot of learning to do. it took me 2.5 years to finally find a coding job , i started out as a medical receptionist doing “light coding” to get my foot in the door. the start out pay is around $25,000 and plenty of room for advancement and opportunities to specialize. experienced coders can earn over $55k
I like journalism and writing a whole lot and also like working on the computer. I want to sign up for a degree that had career flexibility meaning I could do more than one type of job. For example nursing that is all you can do is anything related to nursing. However I want a degree that I would have a lot of career choices with.
