I currently work at a job which is easy and pays good money. However the lady I work with is extremely irritating and the job is dead end i.e. I am not developing any new skills and chances for advancement are slim.
I quite fancy moving into information management, but this would involve a placement year with at least a £5000 pay cut. I would then have to return to Uni to complete an MA. This too would mean more expense.
I am worried about getting too comfortable in a job with no prospects and not developing a full career but also worried about the financial implications of moving jobs.
Any suggestions?
I was wondering if anyone else went thru them? If so, what is your experience. Anyone on here a MT even tho you didn’t attend Career Step? Do you like it? Does it pay well for starters? Thanks for all your advice!
Oh for those who are going to tell me to go thru a regular school, I can’t because I have to work full time at my nursing assistant job, so school is hard.
I am a senior right now on the verge of graduating. I am still jobless, but this year i have racked up a good internship experience, and i am looking for a summer job that will provide me with more good experience, whther that be an internship or what. whatever it pays, i don’t are about the money, i am just looking for something to provide me with more experience in finance.
anyway. back in the fall of this year, i did not know what on earth i wanted to do.
now that i hve a better idea, i have missed out on the fall job recruiting season! i have spent the winter and spring very depressed because i feel like i have no hope for a job or the opportunity to particpate in one of those rotational programs or finance tracks.
does anybody know if i am still allowed to do it?
do you know of any GRADS who got into these programs?
the career center here said i am not allowed to be interviewed on campus after i graduate.
what about interviews at the firm itself?
or am i stuck w/ monster.com?
Most recruitment agencies ie Reed will ask you to identify various skills and give guidance on what you see as your ideal job…….another site may be job centre plus. Some of the sites will also take a search and then send you alerts when suitable positions are advertised saving you the time of searching…….
i have made up my mind that the military is right for me. i am having trouble choosing which route to go, whether it be navy army air force or marines, idk whether to go to an academy, try rotc, enlist, or anything. i am intelligent (3.8 gpa) , and physically fit. please help
No, I don’t want to know this just so I can see how many points Sidney Crosby has against the Islanders. That would just be a bonus. Lol.
I am a freshman and I want to double major in finance and math/statistics with a minor in Spanish. Is this a good combination? What kind of jobs would I be able to get? Is there a better combination?
An 82 will get you pretty much any job you show an aptitude for. Do you know what areas you scored highest in?
I have a Masters in English (not literature, though) and a teaching certification in English, as well. I have been teaching English as a second language for 5 years and am fed up of teaching. It pays absolutely nothing and there is no professional advancement.
What can I do with my skills? I have held jobs as PR coordinator, technical writer, etc. But I don’t like those. I want something to use my creativity. I love planning and researching. But whatever I look into needs experience in the field and I don’t have that. The sales/marketing companies that say they’ll train you and you’ll earn a great salary seem too suspicious or sound too good to be true so I don’t even try there.
i like digital coloring and doing photo-realistic art – however, i don’t have a proper arts degree or base – and though i did work with some happy clients i am still not happy with the snails progress in my career – i am looking for some help to boost my career and improve my quality – can anyone help?
