Can I Switch Jobs While My Wife Is Pregnant And We Are Under My Company’s Insurance?

Hello, I am interested in finding a new job at another company. However, my wife is currently pregnant and she and I are both covered under my current employer’s health insurance plan. If I find another job that offers health insurance coverage, will they cover the pregnancy costs even though it is a pre-existing condition? How do I go about asking this type of question to a prospective employer, being that I don’t really need to disclose that I have a spouse, nor that my spouse is pregnant at that.

perhaps, but you have to check with the new insurance company. though some business will not offer you a benefit package immediately and also you may have a 30 day wait.

It varies by state. Since your insurance would not have lapsed more than three months the new insurance will likely cover your wife’s pregnancy. You also will have the option to get Cobra from your old employer which means you would continue to pay for the insurance you currently have and nothing would change.
