Counseling, Psychology Or Education?
I am looking into masters programs but am not sure which degree (Counseling, Psychology or Education) to pursue. I would like to work at a school (K-12 or college.university) either as a counselor, academic coordinator/advisor, Education Director, Program Director, etc. I did some research online to see what I could do with each of these degrees and noticed that the fields that i’m interested in are listed under each. So, now I am not exactly sure which degree I would go for. Is there one that is more beneficial and flexible than the others? Which would you suggest would be the best?

School psychologists are in great demand right now and often only require a 3 year graduate degree known as an Education Specialist, or Ed.S. Kind of in between a doctorate and a master’s degree. They work with school administrators, parents, and students on issues ranging from school policy, teacher education and instruction, identifying special needs students, and counseling. So you can kind of do it all.
definetly psychology..
school psychology has it made…(only upper private schools have them though..) so your pay should be higher, and you don’t have to teach, but just deal with kids anxieties.
Hey. I would do Counseling Psych. Which is what I am currently studying. It gives you more options: for example assessment. Whereas Counseling Ed you can really ONLY work in the school setting. I guess it all comes down to what you want to do.
With Counseling Psych you can work in the school setting, group/individual counseling, in mental health settings, as well as many others.
Education/teaching gives you more employment opportunities without further training later on
Psychology is more academic and therefore has higher recognition/better longterm prospects
