You need to tell them. They need to determine the order that your insurances pay (primary, secondary, tertiary).
If you do not tell them, they WILL find out then you’ll be in a huge mess. They will request all payments they have made to doctors and facilities back to figure out who is responsible and go over every claim you send in with a fine tooth comb because now they know you will lie to get something. You create a mess not only for the insurance companies, but for the people providing care and billing for you.

Yes – you always have to tell all of your medical insurance companies about any other medical insurance policy you have.
If you don’t, it will create a huge mess. When they find out (and they will find out), any claims you have will be pended. Any claims that have already been paid for you will be reversed. The insurance companies will have to work with each other to see who should have been primary, secondary, etc. This can and will happen even if they find out 2 years after the fact.
It will cause a huge headache for you, your medical providers, and all of your insurance companies. Additionally, it could leave you on the hook for some of your medical bills – if your providers weren’t given the correct Coordination of Benefits information at the time of service and 3 years later all of their payments for you are taken back, they have every right to come after you for the money if it can’t be resolved directly with the insurer.
Why bother with all that hassle (and potential financial liability for yourself) if you can simply be proactive and give everyone the correct info up front?
