Does Anyone Got An Online Degree With U.s Career Institute?
How can I verify the credibility of this institute and get references
I Would Like To Know Is Getting A Career Diploma Good Enough To Get A Good Quality Job?
RTFM claims U.S. Career is not legitimate and charge lots of fees and could not be further from the truth.
1. They are a legitimate school and would not be able to maintain their DETC accreditation if they were not legitimate.
2. U.S. Career DOES NOT charge lots of fees just shipping and it was like $20 per semester. All books were included and I will have an Assoc degree when finished
3. Just because they are not like so many other schools does not change the fact that they are accredited and they do offer a valid degree at a fair price. I say call them for a straight answer.
They’re only DETC accredited. That’s marginal accreditation at best. Credits from most DETC schools can’t be transferred in toward any degree at any reputable, regionally accredited college or university. In addition, schools like “US Career Institute” generally charge a lot more in tuition and fees than you’d pay for taking the same type of classes on line from a legitimate school.
I’d recommend against it.
According to their website they have been around since early 80′s – longevity and stability are both good signs that point towards credibility. You can check with their accrediting body to find out more (www.detc.org)
As far as accreditation It’s important to note that the U.S. Department of Education does not distinguish between regional and national accreditation so to say that national accreditation is “marginal at best” is inaccurate. Accreditation is an independent stamp of approval that allows students like us to have confidence in the institution granting the degree; confidence because the school MUST reach the independent 3rd party standards that the accrediting body sets in order to maintain accreditation.
If you have not done so already you may want to contact US Career Institute to request information on their references etc. I’ve called them before and the reps were pleasant and helpful.
