Does Anyone Know Where I Can Find Legitimate Grants To Attend An Online College Program?
I have considered taking an online program through a college, but need to find one that is accredited. I would like to do either paralegal or criminal justice. Does anyone know if Penn Foster is accredited or any other schools that have these programs online? Also, I’m newly married and at present, my husband is the only one working and we have a lot of bills going out and are behind on a lot. Are there any grants that I can get to help with education costs? I already have student loans and would rather not take out any more loans! Thanks!

Hi –
1. For your first question the answer is your best bet – the public library should have a book on grants – government ones and from colleges too.
2. Go to Google or Yahoo and type in “accredited colleges + online” You should get a slew of them.
Make sure you include the quote marks!
3. Congrats on your marriage – hope you’ll be happy!
4. He should be he only one working! He’s the bread winner and leader of your family!
5. Hmm – bills! Well, have you considered [credit card debt elimination] ? Go to ebay for that one!
6. You can apply to TAP and PELL grants – Federal grants that should help a bit at least. (As long as you are under the income level.)
7. Smart gal! Don’t borrow – only loan – you’ll make money that way! Never borrow money – save save save!!
8. Pay off what ever loans you have with the same income you have coming in now – see number 5 again.
9. The best to both of you and see you on your 50 anniversary! We all hope !

Don’t attend any schools that are not regionally accredited. There are online programs for both those degree paths. American military university has a criminal justice program, for example. Fastweb has tons of scholarship opportunities and the regionally accredited schools will have financial aid departments to help you out with federally funded grants. Double check your schools against the department of education website and look for regional accreditation.
The Penn foster school is Ok It depends what you are going there for . I attend for a business certificate. The tests are not hard but trust and believe you will have to read and study to pass those tests ,open book or closed.
