Finance Major Needs Job Experience While In School?
Lots of people say “go work at a bank”. Thats nice and all but what else can I do? I love seeing where I can put money that will help me in the future like stocks, I always budget everything and see how much I can save or will spend in the future. I was thinking about becomming a financial advisor. I am going into my second year of college if that is important.

Research the companies and jobs that you find interesting. You have to plan in advance, but narrow down your list to places you can easily commute to (whether via your own transportation or public) and can afford to work (most internships are unpaid, but you might get lucky). Draft a formal letter asking that you are a finance student and are looking for experience, that you’ve researched the company and find X,Y,Z about the company thats interesting and seems compatible with your career ideals.
You should see some positive results from this direct communication. It shows that you took initiative to find the job you wanted.
