    I understand the appeal of courses such as this. Very low down payments and monthly payments. Promises of $50,000 a year starting out. Traditionally, education clearinghouses, which are businesses that offer training in 100s of different programs are not the best for training medical transcriptionists.
    I used to assist with hiring for an MT service and I looked for graduates from top schools and those with some experience. I would not consider graduates of educational clearinghouse businesses.
    Best wishes to you.

    I never pursued it, but saw plenty of ads for such;
    Never could find anyone that made $ at it either…

    I have called the school several times in the past and researched them thoroughly. I am not going back to school right now (long story) so I’m not enrolled with any school. I know you want to hear from graduates but I figured I’d weigh in anyways.

    I think Homegirl is confusing U.S. Career Institute with another school because I’m pretty sure they are not a clearing house. They are accredited and have been around for 25+ years according to the information I received. Besides, they have something like 20 programs available not hundreds and I never read anywhere on the website that they promise $50k a year. (although I’m guessing that’s not a bad avearge for the medical field)

    I agree I would not consider hiring graduates from “clearinghouse business” but U.S. Career is not one of those. Of course as an assistant hiring manager you prolly just followed instructions that were given to you by your boss but I’d be curious to know what you consider to be top schools . . . from what I see they appear to be one of the top accredited schools that offers transcription training.

    I would say keep doing research and good luck on your search.
