    There are likley quite a few possible answers to this question. My 2 cents are below to get you started.

    Junior managers tend to have to keep a close eye on the day to day functions of the team. They also have to coach new employees through the early stages of their career. Junior managers may participate in more strategic planning sessions, but typically don’t take the lead.

    Senior managers will set direction for a broader group, so are less close to the day to day functions. They also coach employees, but typically provide high level guidance as opposed to more specific coaching, as the people they are coaching are already experienced.
