How Would I Go About Finding Out Information On My Father’s Military Career?
I know my Father served in World War 11 and I know he went to Germany, Belgium, and possibly Normandy. He died in 1994 and unfortunately anything with him having to do with the war has gotten lost or misplaced. I would really like to know where he fought, his regiment, unit, or whatever else. But I just don’t know where to begin. Is it possible to find all this and anything else out about this area?

Ok? What service? would help? Please elaborate on your Answeres.? Get ahold of his Branch and tell them you want to know his BTR Basic Training Record You are his Daughter i dont see why not. BTR is the USMC term thou. I dont know about ARMY
was he a member of the American Legion or the VFW? If so, his chapter would have somebody who he might have known and traded stories with.
You could also ask the closest Veterans Affairs Hospital. Somebody in their records department should know where to look, if they don’t have any information themselves.
You will need some information of his like full name, Date of Birth etc… SSN too then go here…http://www.archives.gov/veterans/
that will get you what you need to know
good luck
