I am seventeen and I really want some ideas for a business career. I want something where I can make money and enjoy it at the same time. You really need to take time to consider what you enjoy doing and figure out how to translate that into a career. Do you have a hobby? Do you play sports? Like to cook? Enjoy meeting people? Make a list of your favorite past times to see where there might be a career. Consider doing some Internet research by using words from your list with the word ‘career.’
You could also talk to your parents and your friends to get input from them. Or try the school counselor, especially if you are going on to college. You’ll need to figure out your major anyway, so s/he can help you determine some options.
Getting actual on-the-job experience might help point you in the right direction. Consider volunteering your time, finding part-time work or getting an internship while you attend college.
What you will enjoy is really up to you to decide. You might have to do some leg work or try a few jobs before you finally figure it out.
