Is Online Education Worth As Much As On Campus?

I am finishing up my MBA and i went to an actual university for my undergrad and grad and am wondering if i can do my Doctrine online will it hurt me in the future? I mean will i still be able to put PhD front of my name if i finished an online university? I see people getting hired with online degrees left and right and i cant find a job with having degrees from well accredited universities:(

As long as the college (online or campus based) is regionally accredited, any degree you earn should be accepted by any potential employers or other academic institutions.
My best recommendation would be to contact a number of colleges to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career opportunities, etc.). Too often people enroll in the first school they find rather than taking the time to find the best school for them. Taking that time now could save you a lot of time, money and frustration if you choose the wrong school.
This site has some good info on regionally accredited online degrees and some colleges that offer them to help expand your search:http://www.ecollegefinder.org/online-phd…
I think you can enter your info on there for any colleges you are interested in and they will send you more info for free. Good Luck!

  • Hello! It depends on what you’re studying, where you’re studying and what your goals are – as well as the goals of the organisation you’re working for.
You can have a look – there are many universities that offer “real” degrees but at the same time also offer online degrees as well, so it’s hard to make an overgeneralisation. I think that you need to think about what jobs you want to do before embarking on a PhD, and besides, as long as the uni is accredited there’s no problem for you in getting a good job :)
Good luck, all the best, and cheers!

You seem to think online schools are substandard to brick and mortar schools? This kind of thinking is sooo 1990!!
My degree is from an online school, and it is accredited by the same agency that accredits Harvard and Yale, so it most certainly is an “actual university.” It got me into grad school just fine!
As long as the school is accredited it doesn’t matter if it’s online or not! Although if you perceive them as substandard then you’re probably not the best candidate for one.
Sorry if my tone is a bit angry, but I resent you assuming your degree is “better” than mine!
