Is Senator Reid betting his career on the health plan?

Senator Reid will be up for reelection next year. He is trying hard to get the Health Plan passed before the end of this year. If it passes and it is a bad bill will that not end his career? If it passes and it turns out to be a good bill will that help him get reelected? There are a lot of Democrats and some Republicans who seem to be in the same situation – they must be sure it is a good bill or they are ready to leave office. If it passes and it turns out to be a good bill will those who fought against it loose their office in the next elections?

Not only Reid but a lot of others in both the senate and congress. The fighting over this bill is costing the Tax Payers billions of dollars. It is good to see healthy and productive debate over all significant bills but there seems to be a lot of plain out fighting over this bill. Those senators and congressmen who have had so much to say about the bill better be right or they should not be reelected to office. States who reelect bad senators and representatives are costing us; Republicans and Democrats alike who put their own state above the best interests of the United States collectively are not worthy of being in federal office.
