Majoring In Psychology, What Do You Think?

i was once a business major, but because i failed a class three times i am out of the business department, now i had to chose something else, i was interested in psychology since i was young, however, i heard that you need to continue education to Master, and psychology isn’t really a practical field.
so now i am thinking about online education, i found a trusted online education “Western Governors University”, which they offer Business Information System degree, and i like their tuition as well.
so what do you think? should i continue majoring in Psychology, or should i go for Business Information System online?

Psychology is a very intersting field. I would suggest taking an intro class in psych and see what you think. Classes are different than what you would think. Its a very theory based field. But its very interesting i love being a psych maj. But as with careers, true if you want to practice psychology you must have atleast a masters and to be a psychologist in general you need a doctorate. But there are careers open to undergrad psych grads. Social services, psychometry, corrections, law enforcement, parole, mental heath technician, case worker to name a few. I suggest to talk to one of the professors in the psych dept.

You will most likely need a Masters degree to allow yourself to be successful in a psyche. related field. However, isn’t this the case with most things. Educated people usually have healthier lifestyles and expect more out of life. If psychology truly interests you, wouldn’t that help you be happier than a field you have had issues with in the past?

I have a bsc (hons) psychology / sociology and having the degree has helped me get jobs and I write to you now from the caribbean..I wouldnt have gotten this opportunity if I didnt have the degree..
The degree also helps me on a daily basis with understanding the world around me and the world inside me :-)
I graduated more than 10years ago.
The thing is that you cant practice in the area unless you have further education than the primary degree..and the degree programme is quite defind to allow for accredition with your countries psychological society..
I chose not to follow the british psych. society set modules and I have no regrets..the statistics in it had my friends in tears and statistics wouldnt have suited me..I chose my own modules and l loved what a I studied but I am not a member of ‘BPS’.
Also, consider that psychology related jobs are not the ‘happiest’ of job environments..think carefully about the day to day life of an educational or clinical or counselling psych. its not a barrell of laughs..
    Good luck..
    Hope I helped..
