You work on your degree at your convenience. You can work at home, or wherever your laptop takes you. You can roll out of bed and start school without even brushing your teeth (I know some students who do that regardless, lol).

Online colleges are generally much more expensive than going to a physical college.
Online colleges, for the most part, are viewed by the educational and professional communities as a joke.
Many online colleges are not accredited and the credits you earn from them will not transfer to a real school later.
Many accredited online colleges do not offer core classes required for basic AA or BA in a reputable physical school.
A good friend of mine signed up for online college classes – her schedule included two classes that she had an actual classroom for and would commute to attend. She went to school for two and a half years – paid $39,000 – and graduated with a ‘certificate’ not an associates. Still, she was very excited when she entered the job market. Within a few months her bubble burst as interviewers flat out told her that her education was worthless.
I would not recommend the online thing. There are so many advantages in attending a physical school – the social interaction, clubs and activities, leadership opportunity, service work…
    Good luck

It’s a little long a tedious to go through, but if you want to go to school online this is your best bet. these are traditional universities that offer online classes and degrees. be sure to stay away from the colleges that advertise as online schools. basically any school that you find when you type “online college” into a search engine. you definitely want to stay away from places like phoenix, walden and kaplan, they are only out for your money. there are plenty of real schools that you can get degrees online from. you’re just going to have to do your research.

Pros: you can get your degree at home in your boxers
Cons: no one will take your degree seriously.
