Political science degree good for business career?

Right now I am in Honors Political Science and doing a minor in business. I hope to have a career in business or administration someday. Is this degree good enough to get me a good starting position in the biz field?

Should I pursue an MBA down the line as well? I think that would be well worth all the years of school.

In my opinion, skills you need to be successful in business are:
    - knowledge in basic accounting principles and operations controls
    - knowledge in process or basic operations flow
    - knowledge in product and market
    - people management skills
    - decision-making skills
    - understanding human behavior
    - some knowledge about laws related to the type of business you plan to pursue

If you see that your current learnings are able to provide you some of the above then you can say that your course is good enough. I can tell you that I know a lot of people who majored in business that cannot even manage one. You can also always learn the ropes on the job and by reading related articles or books. This all depends on how easy you can grasp the concepts.

MBA may be helpful as it does provide you a lot of insight as to how to tie it all together. But I advise that you work for at least 2 yrs before pursuing further studies so that you are able to better understand the topics discussed. Hopefully you will get at least a supervisory position while taking your MBA. This will allow you to retain what you learn better as you are able to apply it right away. Most students who took the MBA prior to working or at an entry-level position basically have theories. They find it hard to imagine exact application of the learnings. Moreover, experience gives you the advantage of being sure about what you share in class.
