    BUZZZ! Wrong answer! [grin]
Seriously… your idea is great. DO IT! The first couple of years (or at lest the first year to year-and-a-half) of ANY bachelors degree is “general education” courses… which are just about the most perfect type of courses for a globe-trotting flight attendant to be taking. Thanks to computers, you’ll be able to login from anywhere in the world and listen to lectures, participate in discussions, etc.
The first answerer, I suspect, has a bias against distance learning… which has no basis in fact. The only thing you have to be careful about is that whatever distance learning school you choose is ACCREDITED by an agency approved by the US Department of Education (USDE) and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). Most others are just flat-out diploma mills (although, that said, there are MANY unaccredited, but still quite credible schools out there… but it’s still much, much, much better to make sure that one’s coursework is, in fact, properly accredited).
Do NOT take the school’s word for it, on its web site, that it’s accredited. Always, always, always look-up the school you’re considering in the CHEA database at:http://www.chea.org/search
If a school isn’t in that database, then it’s probably not accredited. Only accredited schools are in that database. It’s the fastest, simplest, most reliable way to tell if any given institution is properly accredited.
Hope that helps! And happy flying.

Make sure if you take an on-line course or degree, the school is regionally accredited. These are the only online schools with any credibility, and they are almost always also “brick&mortar” schools. Merely being on the CHEA list is not enough. School Reputation is also important. Even some regionally accredited schools — such as U of Phoenix — are widely and accurately regarded as worthless by many employers.
If you want to be a “Systems/Robotics Engineer”, I strongly suggest you should start Engineering school right after High School, so that you do not lose “study mode”. Engineering school is difficult enough without having to retool. You can do the world travel later, when you are a rich engineer and a pilot with your own airplane…
