PostHeaderIcon Ged or High School Diploma? What’s Best for You?

My best advice: If you’re still in high school, stay and finish. You will make more money, get better jobs and feel better about yourself with a high school diploma. No one has ever been sorry they didn’t finish high school.

But if it’s too late for that and you left high school without a diploma, what are your options?

Can you still get a High School Diploma?

A few accredited schools offer extended high school diplomas, but they are costly and the programs take several years. Many “internet schools” claim to offer high school diplomas in a few weeks (some even days!) with a quick test. Be very wary of these. They are fakes; all you receive is phony diploma that means nothing. These are diploma mills. They’re in the printing business, not the education business.

Is the GED the best choice?

The GED or General Education Development was created in 1942 for people who were not able to finish high school. The GED is considered equal to a high school diploma by 97% of colleges and universities, and virtually all businesses. GED means high school diploma.

The GED diploma is issued by your state when you complete the 7-½ hour set of five tests in person at a test center. The American Council on Education, the people who write the GED, authorizes each state to administer the standardized GED exams. So wherever you live you take the same GED tests.

What are the advantages of a GED?

1. People with a GED make $480,000 more in their lifetime than people without a GED. That averages out to $12,000 a year more income for you. Not a bad raise!

2. A GED will help you get a better job. Employers would rather hire someone who has the basic skills to pass the GED test than someone who doesn’t. Completing the GED means that the graduate has the fortitude to successfully finish a difficult exam. The GED is not a small thing!

3. You can get a GED quickly and inexpensively. Most community colleges offer GED classes and there are excellent programs online.

4. Passing the GED test will make you more valuable to your employer because you’ll have gained basic writing and math skills in addition to demonstrating critical thinking and knowledge application. You’ll find it’s easier to get a work promotion or advance through workplace job-training programs once you have your GED.

5. Having the GED opens doors for advanced training. Most specialized training programs require either a high school diploma or a GED. And with a GED, you can look at higher educational opportunities.

6. You’ll feel better about yourself with a GED because you’ve accomplished something that only 60% of high school graduates can do.

7. Finally, consider the impact of your educational achievement on your family. That alone goes a long way; it’s priceless.

GED or high school? Really there’s only one choice for most people. Getting a GED is the quickest, easiest and simplest way to improve the opportunities in your life.

PostHeaderIcon Online Masters in Education: Choosing The Best Online Program

Those who are considering taking an online masters in education would do well to understand the key factors that can enhance the experience. There are many aspects to choosing the right online program as well as making sure the program meets individual needs. In a fast paced world it isn’t always easy to attend regular classes to earn a degree. Demanding schedules and hectic family and social life can impose on time limits and as the old saying goes; there is only 24 hours in a day. Deciding to get your masters in education is a great start but there are elements that have to be carefully observed.

In seeking a great masters in education program there are several components that have to be addressed. Any online institution that is to be considered should first and foremost be an accredited educational facility. Accreditation is the number one factor that can ultimately kick start a fantastic career as the working world considers online education an acceptable medium given the right set of credentials are met for the school.

There are as many different options of online institutions that offer the online masters in education as there are people who demand them. However, there are some requirements that also have to be met in order to successfully participate in the programs. Taking an online masters in education will translate to having a high-speed internet connection, video camera, microphone and a set of speakers. Although the requirements are not too intensive, there are some factors that have to be considered. Many people are in remote areas that don’t offer a high-speed connection as well as other conditions that could restrict internet access.

There is also the matter of the instructor’s credentials when taking an online masters in education. The online teacher is a relatively new area and can be a rough lesson with an inexperienced teacher. Research all that is required to find out what credentials he or she has and any past student testimony before committing to a specific course of action. A masters in education is a timely course and finding out that the instructor has never taught online and is computer illiterate could influence the outcome of the individual student.

Pursuing an online masters in education is a very flexible alternative to attending a university. There is no need to relocate or quit a good paying job in order to become well educated. If you are ready to commit to an exciting and rewarding education experience, the online masters in education is the road to take. Open up career opportunities in areas that you never before dreamed. Join the modern movement in online education and be a graduate of an online masters in education.

PostHeaderIcon Best Military Career In Preparation Of Becoming A Seal?

My ultimate goal now is to become a Navy SEAL. I would like to go straight into the military without college (Really don’t think college is for me), but being 18 now I know I won’t be either physically or mentally ready once I graduate high school, that only being 8 months away. I would like to go into a military career for about 4 years right out of high school for preparation and was wondering which branch and job would be best suited to prepare me.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not some obese, out of shape guy, on the contrary I’m in rather good shape, running and working out daily, just not quit SEAL material. (I also have the mental capacity, scoring a 96 on the practice ASVAB, and being in the top 20 of my class.)
So which military path would be best to prepare me for SEALS?
