PostHeaderIcon Will Joining The Military Benefit Me In My (hopefully) Future Career In Law Enforcement?

It’s my goal to be in the FBI or be a Detective for the US Government someday, I would like to specialize in combatting Cyber Crimes, but that is just the dream right now.
I might go into the Police or Juvenile Corrections, I don’t know yet!
I’m thinking of joining the Military (probablt Air Force or Navy) and want to know if this would be a good move in sight of what i want to do someday.
Any tips/comments/suggestions on this?
Thanks :)

PostHeaderIcon Military/law Enforcement Career?

I’ve always been interested in military style careers, and careers such as SWAT. I know they are very difficult jobs to get. I have had a history of very minor asthma so my chances of a military career are just about gone. Is there any other jobs like these I could look into?

I am interested in a career in law enforcement and am currently in college in order to assist this goal. I am also considering serving in either the Israeli or United States military after graduating if it will help me in getting a good job in law enforcement. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

PostHeaderIcon What Branch Of The Military Is Best For Building A Law Enforcement Career?

I just graduated from college, I’m 23, and I plan on joining the military in hopes of acquiring the necessary skills and experience to develop a prosperous law enforcement career. I heard the Coast Guard or the Navy are my best bets. Supposedly Coast Guard members have the easiest time making a lateral (transition) into a federal job after their service is up. But the Navy has a broader range of fields and skills to offer than the Coast Guard. Any suggestions?

My goal is a career in Federal Law Enforcement (FBI, CIA, etc.)
Generally people have said that time in the Armed forces is a pretty good thing not only to prepare you, but also to have on your resume.
What specifically in the military would be best?
