How Do I Make Myself Stand Out From Other Applicants During An Interview?

I have a job interview tomorrow morning.
I am already employed.
The job I have applied for is one of greater opportunity and is in the same industry I now work in and have over 10 years experience in.
I know all the basics – smile, make eye contact, dress for success, etc.
But are there any other ways in which I can make myself stand out from all of the other applicants?
I desperately want this position as it would be a wonderful career advancement – but I don’t want to seem desperate!
Also, would it be improper to wear a black skirt?
Would it seem too formal or like I was attending a funeral?
I planned on perhaps wearing a black skirt with a light colored dress shirt.
If anyone has any tips to offer I would be most appreciative!!

I Have A Degree From South Africa (uct), Will It Make It Hard To Find A Good Finance Job In Us?

Although UCT is a really good university, I worry that American emplpyers dont believe that because of the perceptions about Africa. I have applied for about 150 jobs and have gotten no callbacks…Im getting worried. I graduated with first class honors and a distinction in finance, in the top 10% of my class, so I feel bumbed that I may not get a good job in Finance after all that hard work. Should I study another degree in the US or try to do an MBA in the US? :( And an answer to a previous question: I am present in the US, married to an american, so dont need sponsorship.

If You Want To Make The Military A Career What Branch Would You Choose?

I plan on making the military my career so i can retire in 20 years if i wanted to. I want to join a branch where i can advance to higher ranks. In the Air Force i know its hard to get past Captain so thats out of the picture and i’ve already served in the AF and their cutting back. Its between the Army Navy and Marines. I heard the Army is the biggest branch and there is a lot of room to advance. How is it in the Navy and Marines is really competitive? So basically what branch climbs up the grade ladder quicker and slowest?
