I’m about to graduate with an English BA, and am planning for my MA. I would love to get into Editing, but also have an interest in areas like psychology and sociology. Working full time and school f/t (for family, no less) has made it hard to do any type of internships that might help with a career in editing, so I’m not sure if it is practical to pursue that type of career with no experience to back up my degree. Since I already know my interests and strengths, I’m looking for help on deciding where to apply them, career wise.

What I know now is that 1) your best work friend will screw you over in a heartbeat to get the position you should have had 2) the group you affiliate with develops, well… groupthink 3) when you finally leave your employer, your buddies will talk bad about you for a while and then nobody will remember you at all. 4) you need to realize that this is a work relationship only, you are not really friends at all. You need to remember that your sole purpose for working is to make a buck, relationships there are incidental.
