I just started on-line college courses. I’m not sure how to word that on my resume. Since I just started, should I just not list it?
Here’s the deal…my wonderful husband is in the military. He is an E5 and testing for E6 in a few days. The highest rank an airman can be is an E9. So he’s obviously got some rank on him. Here’s our dilemma. His term is up in December 09. At that point he will have been in for 11 years. We are trying to decide what is best for us. We can’t decide whether or not we should re-enlist or not. If he does re-enlist we will only have nine more years before he can retire if he wants and collect that lovely paycheck every month. Not to mention the free medical and dental for our family for life. But this also means that I am out of a job or at least a career. I would have to work doing something but I would just take a job that wasn’t a career path and just more or less a way to make some money. The other option we have is for him to get out and then me take over my fathers business. I would probably make around $70,000 per year but I would also be a full time career woman. This has never been my dream. I have always dreamt of being a mommy that works not a working mommy. You know? Another dilemma for that would be my man would then be the one who takes any old job here and there that he can. What do we do???
Military Career
Pros
Only nine more years
Medical and dental benefits for life.
The chance to see the world perhaps.
A guaranteed paycheck after retirement every month.
Military Career
Cons
My man could be gone for up to a year at a time away from me and his family.
It can be a dangerous job.
No stability- we won’t be able to purchase a house because you never know where you’ll be.
Uprooting our family when we have to.
Moving far from both our hometowns
**I also must mention that my man has a five year old daughter from a previous marriage. The little girl lives in TX with her mother. If we keep getting uprooted it may be hard for us to see her. Especially if we get re-located overseas**
WHAT DO WE DO????????
I would love to get both military and civilian feedback…especially military wives.
I am pursuing a bachelor of arts education degree (i want to be a high school art teacher). I have to go to college online due to my job. What college has that program online? All I’m seeing is bachelor of sciences….HELP!!!!
I got an email from http://college-finder.2ya.com for a college education and I Got approved and was accepted to a real school or to study online, I which one is best? Does it really matter?
I have two BA’s already and want to continue my education online while traveling. How can I make sure the online degree I get is not worthless? ( my BA’s are in mass communication and psychology.)
I am a SAHM and I would like to get a “flexible” job for when the kids go to school. Thankfully I have about 5 years until that happens. In the meantime, I am considering getting a MaEd in Elementary Education. I currently hold a BS in Accounting and I have 10+ years in Healthcare Computing. I am very bright and could probably find a part time job doing anything white collar, but I figured a teaching position would give me summers off / holidays with the kids.
Any advice is much appreciated.
P.S. I am considering the Univ of Pheonix Online MaEd.
I am working towards my bachelors degree in education, however I do not want to teach anymore. I would rather be up and about working on a farm or working in a humanitarian effort. I love plants ,I love helping people, i love food, traveling and the outdoors. So do you all have any suggestions? I would like the idea of working on a farm but who is hiring a farmhand with three kids? any advices?
If you’re trying to get credentialed in California, National University is a good one. You can also get your Masters at the same time.
I have a bachalor’s degree and am looking at becomming an intelligence officer with the long term goal of intelligence with the FBI or CIA. Any advise on with branch of the militarty to choose and which route to choose in that branch?
My online college says since they are considered less then part time, I cannot file a tax return. I paid about 1500k and I believe I should get a tax break for education. I also attended a junior college, and paid around $400. I haven’t received anything from the junior college. Can I still file these two amounts on my tax return to get a tax break for education?
