Dilemma, online degrees are suppose to be for the working adult. The requirement in getting an online degree in education requires 12 consecutive weeks of student teaching. How is a working adult who works somewhere else suppose to do this? I can’t take 3 months off work. If I leave my current job (vested in 2 more years ) I most likely will take a pay cut and not guaranteed I get a job at a school while doing the degree. Any solutions?

I have yet to decide what career I wish to follow but plan to support myself and would prefer to not have to take out a student loan. health (healing and recovering from long term effects of autoimmune disorder) and MOSTLY family situations (parents retiring and need my help) being unpredictable sometimes I won’t have a guarantee at a routine to keep up with regular classes. Some of the more general classes I know I can test at the beginning of a semester and pass without having to attend a class I finished highschool doing that to graduate on time after being sick from gastroporesis(4.0 G.P.A. ;D). More specifically though I thought if perhaps I studied for the classes I can test for pass them and do the rest mostly online all year long (which can sometimes be less scedule restricting) I could do work and studying the rest of my time. I’m 20 & hear it takes 7-10 years to get this level of education so the sooner I can start the better.

I would like to do Masters in Electrical Engineering while I am working. I am in USA CA. Can anyone please provide info of good college which provide online education?

Will you see a return in investment with a dregree from these online education systems for working individuals? Do employees discount people who get degrees online instead of traditional?

I’m 37, and currently unemployed. I can’t really go into detail as to why I don’t have a career, but I can tell you that I have had a few part-time jobs, and they all pretty much sucked.
Right now, I’m looking at starting college courses online, and working towards a career; something that I would really enjoy doing. One possibility is to work in the field of Travel & Tourism, or Hospitality. Some examples are: Travel Agent, Hotel Manager, etc.
The problem that I’m having is this: being 37, I feel that it’s too late to begin an education for a career. I don’t know why I feel this way, I just do. I would appreciate any advice, comments, or insights concerning this issue. Thank you.

There is no career advancement, nor inclination to look for change, juniors are moving ahead of me.
