    My wife is one
and she really enjoys her job, guess its like any other
mostly its about selling and cold calling so you need to
be a strong person if you want to be great
generally its all about the commission
    look for something between
    20 000 – 25 000
and your OTE (on target earnings )
    can be anything
(thats where the big moony is made )
realistically 50 000 is easily achievable
aim for IT recruitment they make the most
get some background in sales and IT

this is no reflection on you but i really do detest recruitment agencies, the way they treat people looking for work is abhorrent and then pay them pathetic wages keeping the biggest slice of cake for themselves. the only thing i like about them is i can pick and choose my jobs. but i should tell you apart from the good money you may get, you will take a lot of flak from the companies you sub to and the people you send there. my line boss is shi’t scared of me i work damn hard and i dont have time for any kind of crap from the company i’m sent to. as the agency employs me you can guess who gets the flak from me. i’ve walked on site before because my wages wernt paid in on friday and wouldnt go back onsite untill i was given my wages in cash. you’ll have to play devils advocate but remember the people you use for subbing out are not just a product that you sell. you have to stand by them if they are good workers and ditch the wasters. dont take any new recruits in on pity or a sob story because if you send a total bullshitter to a company and they cant cut it or do the job you get the fall out from it and may loose the agency a client. i’m subbed out to building firms as a skilled labourer, and you wouldnt believe some of the dross my agency has sent out to the same sites, the foreman actually phoned them up one time and told them if you cant send me somebody sober i’ll cancel you off the books. the foreman ended up kicking him off the site because it wasnt fair on me to loose a job because of one person.

It depends on what level you are recruiting… Managing Directors?? Board Directors?? I would however like you to know that the job you are doing is the equivalent of a Salesmen, all you do sell a job and earn a bit of their salary……it;s easy¬!!!!!

To begin with you need to get a job working for a recruitment consultancy, but I wonder why you are thinking of this particular career. Usually one goes for a certain career because they have a talent or liking for that particular field, but you seem to be more interested in the money than in the career. There are advancement opportunities in any career for anyone who is dedicated to their job, wants to learn from the bottom upwards and wants a career, rather than just a job.

I’ve known a few recruitment consultants in my time, both personally and professionally.
The ones I’ve known personally have been well-paid, but the workload for them was horrendous. Only one of them is still working as a recruitment consultant, but she’s raking it in.
The ones I’ve known professionally seemed a bit unscrupulous and self-interested, I’m afraid… they were more interested in their commission than whether a job may actually be right for me…
