What are some alternatives to a business-heavy career with an I/O psycholology degree?

I am very interested in I/O psychology as a field, however, I am not very interested in working on the business side of things. I understand, however, that I am certainly not going to get away from business if I pursue a degree in I/O psych. I’m wondering what it might look like (in concrete terms) to have a career that blends academia and business.

I have a prof that was in the I/O psychology field. He wrote a book for a class and teaches people how to find a career. He is very inspirational. Anyway, I just wanted to point out that you could use your emphasis in I/O to do other things, like teach.
