What Is Group Think? Someone Cornered Me And Said I Was Involved In A Cult! It Was A Home Study On The Secret.?

All we were doing is meditating on our desires for career advancement and destruction of unhealthy habits like smoking. It was kinda like praying but to ourselves. It did get kinda creepy when the facilitator started to speak out commanding words like ‘bring’ ‘make’ create’ and ‘destroy’.
Need some input here. Middle of the road now on this.

When anyone corners you and says anything in an attempt to bully you, just say “Hey, step off and mind your own f**ng business and stay out of mine. Who do you think you are to question me? You don’t judge me.”
It’s nobody’s business what you do. If you want to participate in every cult since the beginning of creation, guess what. As long as it is not illegal, you live in a country that grants you that freedom.
You do NOT have to explain or justify to anyone. But for your own information, the Secret type meditation is not a cult. A cult involves the worship of someone or something other than God (or a god or a number of gods).

You aren’t doing anything cult like. If you were in a church, it would have been called prayer. I meditate regularly alone. It can be quite relaxing and enlightening. I’ve done it once around others, but like you, it got creepy to me, too. Might try it alone if you enjoyed it outside of the guy talking.

Groupthink is essentially a form of mind control. Nothing you described sounds quite like that.
