If you don’t want a "hands on" career, I suggest hospital administration. If you do want to be involved with direct patient care, nursing and medicine are out, of course.
Some options:
-Pharmacy Technician
-Dietician
-EKG Technician
-Ultrasound Technician
-Medical Radiation Technologist
Note that the above jobs won’t involve blood or "gross stuff", but you will likely have to study human anatomy and phsyiology for most of the above, and that MAY include labs with tissue samples and cadavers.
Chiropractic and Naturopathy are options, but those are consiered "alternative" or "complimentary" healthcare, which is not the same as any of the other jobs I named. I would say that the opportunity to make money Vs. how much you’d spend on tuition isn’t worth it.
I’m not trying to discourage people from such fields, but I know many chiropractors who have said this themselves. Not everyone believes in chiropractic care, insurance often doesn’t cover it so patients may not come often, and after you pay your clinic overhead, you don’t have much left. And there are limits to what you can charge for what you do. And chiropractic care is limited in what you can do. For instance, you may be able to help someone with back pain, but a client with a broken arm, kidney disease, or having angina needs to see a medical doctor. Also, chiropractic programs (at least here in Canada) require the same pre-med program as med school. So you’ll need at least 3 years of pre-med classes PLUS the 4 years of chiropractic school (although grades are not as competitive, and the MCAT is typically not needed). It adds up. That said, if you really want to go into this field, then by all means.
Either way, good luck!
