What’s The Big Deal About Mccain’s Military Career?

McCain was a POW for 5 1/2 years. This is pretty tough and everybody would agree on that. American people are grateful for his service and his scars.
However, is being a POW a military qualification?

No especially when you tell the enemy that your Dad is an admiral so that you get special treatment. Or when you give information to the enemy.

The big deal is that McCain had the opportunity for early release but chose to stay with his comrades. He was fully aware that his torture would continue (I don’t know how many people these days would do that) and still, he stayed! I find your question funny… ‘is being a POW a military qualification”‘? Why wouldn’t it be?

The only HEROS IN WAR…are the dead ….Y ou see in the old days of trial byu fire…ye good old knights where rewarded with land..for thier bravery in battle..IE: how many wounds u came back with.and if your name was a curse tot he enemy..not for being captured..they usally got sold in to slavery or used for war fodder.!unless u escaped and came back with secrets of the enemy..Now days they give you a medal if u get half ur head blown off and call u a hero.and avoid all medical help u need in the future.and there are those who get captured..and are allowed to call them selves heros due to the geneva convention as to inhuman treatmeant from the enemy…my uncle got captured in the second world war and spent 20 years in a gulag in russia..the only thing he got was pshyhological disorder with extreme bad memories..he was gald he came out of it alive let alone be called a hero?I am afraid cain,s heroship is trumped up situation for the republican party..
