If you are really interested in medical school, then military isnt the best choice due to lengthy Military Service Contracts.

All branches are equal. It really depends on how much work you're willing to put in to try and get in to medical school to become a doctor. The enlisted side of any branch doesn't train for becoming a doctor anyways, they're more like nurses assistants and dentists assistants. The navy corpsman is not a doctor in training, more like a medical assistant, it is good practice and a good way to get your foot in the door though.
Joining the military is a good option. Not only would you get training, you get the GI Bill, it helps pay for school.
P.S. Don't listen to recruiters, they bend the truth signifigantly to fill there quotas. Don't let them talk you in to ANYTHING you don't 110% want to do.

Ok I am a senior in high school and all I've ever wanted to do is work in pediatrics, I had never concidered any branch of the military, The Navy called me over the summer and i went in, they asked a lot of questions and found out that I had wanted to be a nurse. They took me to meps later that week to try and get me a hospital corpsman possition. i got it the minute i talked to the people there. So I am now a hospital corpsman, I just need to get through basic in June. After 8 weeks in basic i go to a technical school for a year then start working in a hospital. My recruiter told me that after i am out the Navy will pay for my extra schooling within the ten years after I'm dischaged.

I'm a recruiter in Cleveland Ohio for the navy and if you want medical you can eliminate the marines. The marines have no medical personnel. They are all navy HM (FMF).

I'm not a doctor...nor do I play one on TV (ha, ha). I was however a Navy Corpsman. I was given outstanding medical training that I am still using today at my current job. (I am a Medical Assistant right now)
There are many advanced training options for enlisted people. There are commissioning programs to especially in Nursing. I do know that there are a lot of programs for doctors. One of the doctors I used to work for went through medical school through the Navy. He was a cool dude, and a flight surgeon.
I put a couple of links below to describe some of the programs.
Forgive me if I am partial to the Navy...because I was in the Navy. I am sure other branches have good programs too...
NOTE: You can go through Medical School on the Navy's dime if you just want to go to school. You can do that too. You do not have to be enlisted to do that.
