Which University Offers The Best Online Degree Program?
I’m currently out of the country, but I still maintain a residence in Florida. I heard this makes a difference, but I’m just not sure. I’m interested in either a degree in HR or Early Education.

Since you are out of the country, this may be difficult to do. The state universities and community colleges will be the best and least expensive way to further your education online. Usually degrees obtained online from state universities and colleges will be no different than a degree granted to a student sitting in class. You probably won’t get a scholarship, but financial aid is possible.
Stay away from the for-profits because of high cost. Some will be reasonable, but most, like University of Phoenix, overcharge.
Many state universities now have online degrees. The following are some websites to get you started.http://www.fhsu.edu/virtualcollege/http://www.peru.edu/offuttafb/degreeprog…http://outreach.uwyo.edu/ocp/http://www.distance.msstate.edu/http://www.distancelearning.ufl.edu/degr…http://www.apu.apus.edu/index.htmhttp://www.online.uillinois.edu/http://www.depts.ttu.edu/ode/CollegeOver…
You can go to http://www.dantescatalogs.com/CounselorD…
to get a list of degree granting institutions that cater to military and their families. Even if you are not military, check out the institutions anyway to see if they will work with you. Don’t worry about the statement about the education office, just click the button “I understand” to be able to view the list.
If you are just starting your education, check to see if the program you choose accepts CLEP and DSST tests. You may be able to find a testing center overseas where you can take these tests for college credit. For information on CLEP tests, http://www.collegeboard.com/student/test…
For information about DSST tests, http://www.getcollegecredit.com
When you choose a school, make sure it is at least regionally accredited. You can check accreditation at http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/search.a… You can learn more about accreditation at http://www.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/i…
There are a couple of forums online with members who have obtained their degrees online. Some have gone pretty far with their online degrees. The forums are free to join but you can read the forum without joining. You just won’t be able to post. http://forums.degreeinfo.com and http://www.instantcertonline.com/forums
Good luck

Great school!
I would regard online universities as the absolute last resort for someone seeking higher education.
The quality of education these programs offer is minimal – there is simply no substitute for the kind of dynamic interactions and discussions that commonly occur in face-to-face college courses. Also, the quality of educator is significantly less at online universities – the best faculty choose to teach at real colleges and universities. Both the pay and work environments are far superior to online universities. So, for great classes from great instructors, go to a real college or university.
Also, because of the minimal training they offer, employers and graduate institutions place little value in degrees earned from online programs. Many of these programs lack even basic accreditation for the degree programs they offer.
Bottom line – you will receive little if any personal or professional benefit from online universities relative to what you could have received from a real college or university.
