Why is having emotions a bad thing? My Physcotherapist and career coach both think I need to get rid of them.?

    I can’t explain why your therapist or career coach would say that, but it sounds to me like more of a misunderstanding. One of the basic understandings in psychology is that feelings are normal and o.k. But it’s what we do with our emotions that gets us into trouble. I’m guessing that you have ways of dealing with your feelings that is either causing you trouble, or is difficult for other people to deal with, or else you wouldn’t be in therapy in the first place. The challenge is to learn how to manage your feelings in a healthy way, not to get rid of them entirely.
